To all the madness TB upgraders

I spoke to Mark at WF on Friday as Kerry suggested.  Exact content of kit won't be finalised until Version 1 has been set up on Kerry's car ( I think he said within a week or so?) Wf will not process our deposits until then.

WF will issue a full set of instructions with a parts list when the kits are available in 3 weeks or so and reprogramming the ecu's will be a quick turnround.

It's all looking good.

:D

Saw Kerry's car when I was collecting my diff yesterday - throttle bodies look lurvely. There's a bit of paper under the wiper suggesting that the car is off for dyno setup on the 4th.

Keep telling myself to not be tempted...

Cooooh! That's good - want it back for some fireworks on the 5th :D

PS There wasn't much petrol in it when I left the car :(

Looking at the size of those throttle bodies I wouldn't have thought that much petrol will stay in the car for long :D

An update for TB upgraders.

My car that is being used to develop the installation has gone to RR yesterday and I hope to collect it next week and will then see what the timescale is for the others who have put their deposit down. So far, WF have not cashed my deposit money.

I am advised that the RR optimisation will give emissions to meet future MOT tests and give a useable power over full rev range.

Of course this will apply to my car that I have made available to WF and I think should be adequately near for you others but you may wish to further optimise your setup on a RR too. But I am no expert in these matters. Perhaps those who may know better can comment?

It's a good point. The map Westfield get for your car will work for your car. There is no guarantee that it will work for everyone elses car, so everyone else would be well advised to get their cars to a good RR and just have the map checked/tweaked. The Westfield map should be pretty close to being perfect, so it shouldn't be an expensive or time consuming undertaking. BUT it is a *well worthwhile* thing to do though to ensure that the map you end up with is optimised for *your* car.

Good to hear that the upgrade is progressing and looks like the big day is getting nearer.

I know we will be spread around the country and may have different timescales for installing the new TBs, but does anyone know of good RRs with the right software where we might get a group discount.

I am in the NorthWest (cheshire), any other TB upgraders nearby?

Nikpro,

I'll sell you a copy of my map for £1,200 :p

On a more serious note, what software is needed to talk to the ECU?

Do MBE have free software....off to have a look at their web site.
