The main reason I'm not thrashing the b*****k* of my Westfield tomorrow is that the alternator fell off somewhere near Kendall a few weeks back.

Well to be technically correct, the alternator was still attached perfectly... it was the bracket that had fallen off!

Moral of this story - check every damn nut and bolt on your car after a track session!

I've had my 2.0litre Zetec, jenvey throttles, DTA management, and closed water-rail cooling for 16 months now and here's a small list of problems:

(1) Horn stopped working - replaced it

(2) Engine decided to cut out whilst overheating in traffic - bought a lower temp fan switch and stay out of traffic

(3) Car wouldn't start no matter what I replaced or changed - until I found out my main positive battery cable had rusted through about a foot from the terminal

(4) passenger door popper keeps breaking - must have replaced it 10 times!!! Looking to change the popper system for a catch/latch etc.

So there you have it, all minor things, and nothing that's ever stopped me makingf it home from a track day without one of those posh trailer things!

:)
