Hello JeffC

Apparently this one isnt in this model - one of the last model PINTO engines produced apparently - well see anyway - anything is better than what I have now - for a hundred quid I cant fall off.

I have had 2 years of great sprinting fun with a 1.6 Pinto all of 100BHP at the flywheel, Lightened and balanced everything, fast road cam and a mildly ported head. Unfortunately my signature guives away the fact its time to move on, but certainly an easy engine to work on and I wouldnt disuade anyone from using one. :)

you can purchase new spray bars with larger holes from Burtons from what i remember;)

T'was the very early pinto's that had a problem with the spray bar. ( Mk1 RS2000, Mk3 Cortina, Mk2 Capri etc ie early 70's) The holes were "redesigned" and the oil flowed more freely over the cam lobes. Regular oil changes are the way to go. The spray bar on the later pintos is fine, change it as a precaution sure, but provided you change the oil frequently, you won't have a problem. No need to change it as a service item IMHO.

I've put well over 350,000 miles on pinto engined Sierras ( All 2 Ltrs) and they never let me down. Not once.
