adhawkins Posted June 27, 2005 Author Posted June 27, 2005 shame about the hickups but you looked to be going round pretty well to me! Yep, that's the annoying thing. I felt like I was just getting to grips with the first corner, and was ready for a real push on the last run. I'd cocked it up within about 4 seconds, before I even got near a corner Still...maybe next time Andy Quote

There is no such thing as the perfect run... Quote
barney Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 There is no such thing as the perfect run... yes there is.. but its always the one the timing gear fails on.. Quote
adhawkins Posted June 27, 2005 Author Posted June 27, 2005 Been saying that or something like it at every event I've ever done. There is no such thing as the perfect run... Wasn't expecting perfection, just wanted to keep on improving as I had been doing on most of my other runs. Selecting 5th instead of 3rd off the start put paid to that however Plus my Thomas the Tank impressions...I trust someone got some photos of the Purple Choo-Choo? Andy Quote
adhawkins Posted June 27, 2005 Author Posted June 27, 2005 yes there is.. but its always the one the timing gear fails on.. Who was it that managed to do a (something like) 21 second run? Blimey, those guys in 'H' are quick Andy Quote

Martin Keene Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Makes my introduction to sprinting look a bit boring... Quote
adhawkins Posted June 27, 2005 Author Posted June 27, 2005 Makes my introduction to sprinting look a bit boring... I know which I'd have prefered How did you get on? Andy Quote
Martin Keene Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Last in E... But that's not a surprise! PB of 38.80 which I didn't think was too bad for a first attempt. I'm waiting to the full results, but providing the time is comparable with the top third of Class A then I'll be happy. Quote
adhawkins Posted June 27, 2005 Author Posted June 27, 2005 What engine is it you've got? X-Flow? My best was (I think) something like 35.6. I was well pleased with that. I think as long as I was improving and not spinning I was generally pleased with what I was doing Andy Quote
adhawkins Posted June 27, 2005 Author Posted June 27, 2005 There's a Mr. Navin who seemed to do Ok with one of them I hear he's bottled out this year, must have been us two coming up the ranks that scared him off Andy Quote
davidgh Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Yeah, only a little old xflow... First x-flow in class A was Chris Ford with a 38.10 (no mean driver either) -- so your 'first attempt' time was not bad at all. Quote
Martin Keene Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Cool! That makes quite a good effort then. What was fastest in Class A? I hear he's bottled out this year, must have been us two coming up the ranks that scared him off He's making it faster to make sure I really don't stand a chance... Edited to add: Anybody know when full results will be published? Quote
Rob Navin Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Edited to add: Anybody know when full results will be published? Strangley enough I do ! I am busy adding all of your 64 foot times before I publish. I'll tyr not to take too long but work, cars and beer have got in the way a little BTW my little old x-flow has a personal best of last year of 34.48 but alas Stuart piped me this year with a 34.48 with his x-flow. Both were class E cars ! As for perfect runs from where I was sat Mark Smith and Barney looked as close to perfect as I had seen round curborough Quote
