Fuel filler breather

In the manual it suggests that I run about 600mm of breather pipe from the filler nozzle connection downwards in a U-shape, then attach the upwards bit to the chassis with 'p' clips. This results in the pipe ending exactly above the rear offside brake assembly, which presumably gets a bit hot. Hot brakes & Overflowing petrol don't mix very well, I think - what have others done? Other than avoiding filling the tank until the brakes are cool?

It's a Speedsport, if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's basically vapours only and an air inlet as you use the fuel. Mine is as per factory build as I guess are loads of others.
