Kevin Wood
There is one other candidate for running on other than fan motors. The alternator can inject current into the ignition circuit via the charge warning light. If you've got no other load on this circuit than maybe an engine management main relay, I guess this could bleed enough current to keep the main relay pulled in and the engine running. A diode won't cover all eventualities in this case. Probably best to ensure that something substantial (e.g. fuel pump?) is running off the ignition circuit switched by the key. The alternator needs a current feed via the lamp to self-excite when the engine starts. fnarr fnarr. Kevin
Eddy5
Following a conversation with Mark, we've altered the loom so the fan is now powered from a permanent feed instead of the ignition switched feed. Basically we cut the white supply wire at the fuse box and taped it up then took another feed from the connection with 2 brown wires in the fuse box (I think it's 5A which is the brake light and reverse light feed) and supplied the fan with that. Fairly easy and works a treat.
Flappa
Just done the wiring mod. All seems to work okay
