davehall
A couple of problems I've got with the electrics. The fuel level gauge is fluctuating all over the place. Somebody has told me I need a voltage regulator. Where does that go? Also, when the lights are on, the Rev. counter doesn't work! Any ideas? Cheers
stu999
The fuel level gauge is fluctuating all over the place. Somebody has told me I need a voltage regulator. Where does that go? TADTS... Seriously, if it is fluctuating when you are moving, there is nothing to worry about. It is just that the gauge is 'undamped' so as the sender in the tank picks up the fuel sloshing about, it sends the information faithfully to the gauge. If however, it is fluctuating as the car sits in the garage/drive etc, you have a problem. But a voltage regulator is unlikely to fix it... Also, when the lights are on, the Rev. counter doesn't work! Any ideas? Alomso definately a poor/non existant earth to the rev counter - at present, it is probably earthing through the clock illumination bulb... Steve L
Are you sure that the battery wire and signal wire are not interchanged? Steve
