SteveF Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 I know someone who was selling an s2000 engine complete with throttle bodies & mapped Omex ECU recently - it went on eBay & never reached the reserve ! Correction - it's back on eBay Quote
stu999 Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 it went on eBay & never reached the reserve ! P'raps the reserve was too high? Quote
SteveF Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Bidding eneded at £1750 this time - still not at the reserve - which I'd guess is probably somewhere around £2500 Quote
leighc Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 don't know if he's being serious but in the Q & A he states that the reserve is 5k Quote
SteveF Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Guess I should have scrolled down to read the Q&A - you can buy an good engine+gearbox for around £2-3k - but I guess he's trying to recover his costs for all the development work (RR time) for the Omex mapping , ECU, loom & TBs - which won't have been cheap. NS Dev Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Only downside is it's been in an autograss car I race in autograss, and have to say that engines tend to sit on the rev limiter for most of the season, so not many hours maybe, but all of them very hard!!!!!! On the VX front, funnily enough I have an internally std (at the mo) VX XE16v in my grasser, it has ARP rod bolts in it, 7500 rpm rev limit and is fitted with 48mm jenvey throttle bodies and a matched to head carb manifold plus homemade exhaust manifold/system. It made 176 hp@ wheels (just over 200 flywheel) on John Wilcox Rolling Road in Hinckley. Quote
