Westfieldman Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Still waiting... See other thread as I am as well Quote
adhawkins Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 The base engine was £500 plus vat its what I have done with it since So you could get a Duratec engined car for similar money to a Zetec if it hadn't been breathed on too much? Andy Quote
felters Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Don't discount a bike engine car (BEC) either... It's the only way of getting a car down to 425kgs... unlikely with a Zetec. Quote
S8ight Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 I'm thinking I'd prefer a 2.0 to a V8, but I'm not entirely sure why? lack of testosterone/chest hair/big medallion ?? Quote
CocoPops Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 I'm thinking I'd prefer a 2.0 to a V8, but I'm not entirely sure why? lack of testosterone/chest hair/big medallion ?? hmmm, only 1 out of three applies, so maybe! Seriously guys, it sounds like I have a good few options to choose from. Stoneleigh, that sounds a good idea and not too far from me, just up the M40 iirc. You've all given me plenty to think about. A couple that do seem appealing at this stage are: http://www.duncanwinner.co.uk/ (Black Zetec based) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....41&rd=1 (no idea on reserve of that one tho). Quote
smithydar Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 ITYM nice looking Westie. Edit: Ain't the 'edit' button great? I agree though...looks a little pricey to me... sedsy Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 My 2pence worth Some Westfields built privately are as good if not better than factory builds. Quote
CocoPops Posted March 25, 2005 Author Posted March 25, 2005 I'm starting to gather that Perhaps what I should have said was.... I want one that was built from new parts. Quote
david.c Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 I'm not to sure about the weight quoted though - 425kg? Thats the 1st thing that jumped out at me Thought it must have been bike engined David Quote
adhawkins Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Perhaps what I should have said was.... I want one that was built from new parts. Any particular reason why? A new engine precludes the use of carbs, which is usually a relatively easy way of getting more power (for example). Also, Q platers can be easier to get through the MOT. Andy Quote
