James Posted March 5, 2005 Author Posted March 5, 2005 We expect children to grow up too soon. When I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, you used to get the cheek etc from 18 years olds. Now you get it from 10 year olds and younger. It's not a surprise really. Luned I agree completeley Kids are expected to grow up to quickly and I think the goverment have a part to play in this by putting kids under so much preasure from an early age with more and more tests that they have to sit do they sart at six years old now? we should alow kids to grow at there own pace I certinaly wont be pushing my daughter to grow up quickly I want her to enjoy and savour her child hood because she wont get another chance! They are put under so much pressure these days. All results are put under the microscope, and everyone in schools are much more accountable. Yes, schools are there to teach them, but what should we be teaching them? We tend to push subject such as Maths and Literacy (the new word for English, for those of you who didn't know ). Slowly schools are now moving towards more creative subjects such as Music and Art. I just think it's all very sad. Luned Quote
Mike Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 You all go on about blaming kids, but it was a 27 y/o man thats been arrested! Suppose you could blame the way they were brought up, but the most horrifying thing is that he maybe a parent himself? mike Quote

TerryC Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 You must understand that the area that this shocking act took place is the same area of scotland where people try to murder and maim other people all because they wear a green and white top or a blue, red and white top. Its the same area where bigotry is self propagating and just to help the situation, they place innocent asylum seekers there as well. I live across the other side of Scotland in Fife and we still have Celtic and Rangers but none of the problems. Terry Quote
