Hi all

Just looking to start building a westfield, Been talking to the factory and looking to start building about this time next year. (got to finish off the house first). Going to start off the the sei starter kit but would like to start sorceing the mayor parts first going to put a cvh lump in the car. ( only because i've built a lot of cvh race engines and know my way round them). Any help no what parts to start looking for ie. diff, brakes and so would be of great help

Thanks rick

I'd possibly think about a modern 16v engine, probably make more power than a CVH for the same money and will be just as easy to build as a cvh and possibly better resale as well.

Sei has a sierra diff I think, so a sierra xr4x4 rear diff would be a good investment.

Other than that I can strongly reccomend joining the club and doing a search on here for any other queries you might have, much of its been covered before :D:t-up:

Rick welcome. You've come to the right place! Always ask on here for info if in doubt. There's an awful lot of experienced people on here that live and breathe these things.

Never worry about asking a daft question. Rob Navin does it all the time!! :p  oh and so do I!! For tech stuff, get on to the techtalk section etc.

I agree with Scruffy the 1st; fit a modern 16ver there in very good supply. Obviously budget could be a constraint and you may have contacts/parts etc for the CVH. It’s all about getting the thing on the road first and foremost. My 1st Westy was a SEiW with 1380cc all screaming Xflow which revved to 8900rpm! ( I've still got the engine) then moved on to the XE 2.0 16v( I still have engine) and now an absolute fantastic SEiGHT 'club' V8 Efi which I love and get 30mpg!

Get down to as many shows as you can and ask lots of questions and you'll glean lots of data!, bring your tent and a few beers and join in YOU will enjoy. There are some great people with in the club who’ll only be too pleased to welcome you, drink your beer and offer advice!! Come to Yorkshire where we’re even worse up here in the Affluent North!…Keep away from the Midlands tho’…its Wales in disguise!!

Find out where your area meet is and get to as many as you can

Enjoy :D
