adhawkins
Westfield plumbing is noted for overcooling zetecs. There are fixes for this. Check out Stepps build site, or David East's site. Andy
Saltydog!!
Thanks guys, After testing things last night I've concluded that the temperature probe (supplied with the Smith's clocks) is probably faulty. I'll double check it with some hot water tonight to make sure, before a visit to WF on Sat to replace it (and a few other bits & pieces). Cheers, SD
swiftr
SD, Have you've read my threads on madness engine 'fun'? Engine requires 3/4 throttle to start (even when warm needs some throttle) and emissions are way out. My engine also takes a few minutes to register on the temp gauge and about 10 mins running before the cooling fan kicks in. Am trailering the car to WF next Monday to get the ECU mapping checked/re-mapped or else it won't get through SVA on emissions.
Saltydog!!
Sounds like there could be a que forming outside the factory, depending on what you find. Who's paying for that little excursion? My previous Westi (also a standard 1800 Zetec 1999) started and ran perfectly!! What changed? Cheers, SD
swiftr
I'm paying for the cost of diesel and another day off from work! Already had the ECU and Ford throttle body back to the factory, and then found the ECU wiring loom was incorrectly wired up.
