Back On The Road

Recommended Posts

She is back on the road thanks to Procomp !!

Gearbox had little oil in it (which i thought may have been the case) The thrust bearing was the wrong type hence the noises on tickover without the clutch pedal depressed (Like yours Mark!??) Etc etc

Runs like a dream now much smoother changes etc and you cant hit reverse without pressing lever down first (Neil) HEHE

Really chuffed and they charge very good rates down at Procomp !! Recomend them to anyone

:t-up:  :t-up:  :t-up:  :D  :D

Now where did i put that balaclava ? (cor spell)

Well if i am honest i got the original box off a 2 ltr pinto, changed the bell housing to the ally rs2000 one and threw it in (£25) and it did 2500miles without much oil LOL and i didnt realise i should have changed the thrust bearing and shortened the input shaft.

Changing my pinto version to an alloy bell housing this winter. The housing will come with the original release fork. But what is this about shortening the shaft???????? ???

I beleive I am correct in saying that you only need to shorten the input shaft if you fit a 2.8 gearbox.
