KerryS
Where the bonnet moulding rests on the main tub, should there be any foam strip? There seems to be about a micron between the air filter and the inside surface of the bonnet on my Zetec with the elephant's nose air inlet and if the bonnet was just a touch higher it would help. stubbow
Mine also has foam strip but to be honest its not the foam that sets the bonnet height its the pins and locks! Danny

geelhoed
Keep in mind that the engine will move around when you drive. I cut the rubber between the airbox and the throttle body (standard blue oval) as short as possible.
Saltydog!!
I did the same so that inside the rubber tube, the bottom of the intake was touching the top of the TB. I do intend to put foam along the top of the side panels. HTH, SD
KerryS
It's engine movement that concerns me really, especially with inlet on RHS and, I understand, engine will rock to LHS, raising the inlet higher. I have cut down the mating connection to the throttle body and that bit's OK, it's the rubber connection of the air filter to the inlet trunk up near the header tank that's really close. Course, as stubbow says, the foam's got nowt to do with it really. Kerry S
