Just an update.

I bought a NavMan 650 as Yvonne couldn't map read herself out of the village!!!  We went to Monaco during May and it was absolutly spot on, bearing in mind the SatNav was straight out of the box.

The street level mapping in Europe was perfect, taking us (with that sexy voice, Mark) within 5 metres of the house we rented.

I relied so much on it that I realised if it went wrong, I would not have a clue where to go so it I would recommend taking a map with you just in case.

By the way.... did I ever mention the 2005 Monaco GP viewed from a private apartment?

Still waiting for my tom tom sat nav.  Still can't complain for £150.  Hope it comes soon though as big journey coming up!

Mt TTG has tried to direct me the wrong way down one way roads before....it's good but not perfect.

Got a new Ipaq plus TT5 last week with the bluetooth GPS unit. It's superb, I'm amazed at the detail of the mapping that it has in it.  

To think of all those years that I've been reading maps on my lap whilst driving, and the wife has tried he best to navigate as well.......

And it will all work off battery for about 8 hours as well so can use it in the Westfield without 12v power.
