Blatman Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 £1350.01 Will you be taking SteveD with you, or will it be a long distance romance from now on? Quote
Frau Vesty Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 You've been trying to sell the carbon one for a while, since before you bought the twin BE one, so why the sudden change of heart? Quote
Blatman Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Surely it'll be cheaper to ship the one that weighs the least... Quote
Mark Stanton Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Jan Before you decide which one you wanna keep - check out the Aussie car import laws and legislation and requirements for emissions And also double check the Victorian State Laws for Melbourne Have fun Quote
Camel_Landy Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Why not take one in as a "car" and the other in as a track car? That way, I think you'll be able to get around some of the importation duties. Alternatively, dismantle one of them and ship it over as "spares"... Also... How are you shipping them? I'm sending my Landy out to Melbourne in Jan so I've now got a whole load of info on getting vehicles into & out of Oz. To give you an idea, RoRo is costing me approx £700-£800 where as a 20' container would only cost £1400. Drop me a PM if you want some info on paperwork, costs & shipping agents. Mark. Quote
oioi Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 £12.50 bite me hand off before it goes any lower... I have cash waiting Quote

Jan Coombes Posted November 24, 2004 Author Posted November 24, 2004 You've been trying to sell the carbon one for a while, since before you bought the twin BE one, so why the sudden change of heart? Its not really been up for sale, I have to fit the new stack (fault with the old one) and have a few other jobs to tinker with. Just not had the time what with DIY on the flat. I guess I should find out the road laws down under. Quote
Frau Vesty Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Hi spec, Carbon Fibre Westfield For Sale, email me for details Quote
scruffythefirst Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Take both, Take both roll bars off and you should get both in a container one above the other. Weld in a ceiling and put one above the other. Containers are pretty cheap and you can sell it on after you've cut out the floor when you get to oz. Quote
Stuart Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Containers are pretty cheap and you can sell it on after you've cut out the floor when you get to oz. Not sure you can ship your own container but, even if you can, think you might find that the container rate to Oz is so cheap because container lines are always desperate to get containers back east to be filled with consumer goods for the west. This only works with their containers, not yours. Quote
timd Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Like what you've done with the car Jan - seems the bodywork has changed a little along with the power output?! Quote
Bazzer Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 I have been told at work there is about a 90% chance of me having to move to Melborne. I have been looking on the internet about taking a car with me, but I can only aford to take one so one of them will have to be sold. (if anyone can offer any help let me know) The twin engine car is really quick, but its loud, and has no wether gear due to the full cage. Engines are not a issue as I have 2 spare ones now. The cabon car is my love I have spent about £30,000 getting it to the spec it is. If anyone is intrested in either of these cars email, at the end of the day it will all come down to money, I am sad to say. What whould you do? What should I do? Carbon car Twin engine car What have you done to Tims old car. It looked fine last time I saw it. Its a right mess now Quote
