Can anyone give me any ideas how much they reckon my car's worth. It been in these classified's and others for a few months.

Its the Yellow Cosworth westfield seiwide.

I started with a highish price cause I was in no real rush to sell but could do with the cash now.

Cheers

IMO selling westys at this time of year is very hit & miss a cossy westy is only going to appeal to certain people cos of its power  :D , westys in general have dropped in value over the last year IMO yours may be worth 12K but whether or not you can get that is another matter

good luck

I think we need a bit more info really.

Car spec ???

Age ???

What price have you had it up for ???

Just found your ad.......here

IMHO it might be a little overpriced in the current market. :(

It's quite an unsual/odd/rare/MAD :D    engine in there which will be great for the right buyer but maybe have a limited audience.

I recon that anything over £10K has to be a bit special (I'm not saying yours ain't) and need some heavy promotion.

Why not try £9,500 (or thereabouts) and really promote it everywhere you can think of....Autotrader, pisstonheads, findit.co.uk, racecar, bookatrack.............. :sheep:

I'd say put it on e-bay if it were a trailer but even so it might be worth a punt, depends on how much you need the money really, it might be worth keeping it under wraps untill early spring........ :suspect:  ???

Best of luck.......... :t-up:

I'm with Nana's - price it under £10k (I'm sure you'd accept something in that region with your current price..?) and then try and keep your price firm.

I reckon you'll get more response that way and certainly should attract more interest - its been said before, but £10k is a serious price point/threshold for Westy's.

All IMHO of course!

Good luck!

This time last year after a good summer there were hardly any westy's for sale, and prices were good.

Now after a poor summer  :(  and there seems to be more cars for sale than buyers, forcing prices down.

Unless you really need the cash i'd wait until spring, otherwise you might have to 'bite the bullet' and accept an offer which doesn't do justice to the spec that your car has....

Cheers guys. Kinda what I was thinking but wanted some impartial thoughts. Youre right, I would take £9.5K for it.

I'm asking £10.5K but some of the ads still have it for £11.5K (BaT - MikeDB).

So if anyone out there wants one. Its going cheap !!!!!

Cheers

Chris

The more information you can give on the web the better.

Upload lots of pics - interior, engine bay, all angles (better still codge together a dedicated web site) and put lots of narrative in the description about how it's faster than Ferraris and how good the power to weight is and how it's the most exciting car ever to corner. Facts and stats are great for us cos we know what they mean - first time buyers are buying a dream and you need to get them excited about the traffic light grands prix they can win and how they can lap as quickly as a Zonda.

Make sure it's on :

easytrack.co.uk, bookatrack.co.uk, racecar.co.uk, findit.co.uk and as many others as you can find.

Under £10k will sell it with a bit of effort into the marketing. I actually think it would ebay out for £10k. Look at what the FW400 made.

Do us all a favour and don't take less than 11K for it... :(

At 9.5K it'd be a give away. Fair enough you need the money, but even so, it'd be a shame to let it go too cheaply. Try your best to keep it above 10K at least...

If its the car I think it is its been advertised for quite a long time now  and people start to get suspicious about why its been for sale for such a long time and unfortunately don't even bother getting further info. about it let alone start travelling around the country to see the these cars advertised. And having the cossie engine is probably not helping your cause,as its probably not the ideal first Westie and people who have already sampled the delights of Westie ownership will probably pass it by in favour of V8/bike /or vx/ford zetec/duratec power in that price band. But i'm a great believer that everything has a buyer and sometimes you have got to hold out or drop the price .Its a shame to have to drop the price too low as it de-values other peoples car to a certain degree and will start raising suspicions again.Just make it sound as interesting as possible, offer to travel if you can and if you get a bite grab it with both hands but don't sound too desperate.

OK..... I've got a similar dilemma with mine.

I'd like to shift mine before I disappear off travelling, it's either that or let my old man drive it while away. I've asked for sensible offers (preferably around £9.5k) but all I've had back so far is that it's too expensive & I don't want to take the p1ss with a ridiculous offer. I've only advertised it here so far but before I stick it up on Find-it & Pistonheads I want to get the price sorted.

So... Is what I'm asking realistic? Should I drop the price? However.... I don't want to give it away, nor do I want to de-value everyone else's cars.

Discuss....
