The fact that it's beeping means the CPU is OK, and probably the motherboard too. Sounds like the PSU or switch to me.

To check the switch: find where it plugs onto the motherboard (it'll usually be a 2-pin connector plugging onto a couple of pins of a bigger connector on the board). Make a note of exactly where it plugs in, then unplug it and momentarily short those two pins together with the tip of a screwdriver. The machine should start up; if it switches off again as you describe then it's probably the PSU (cheap and easy enough to replace anyway). If it starts OK then it's the switch.
