KerryS
Nigel I agrre with Geelhoed - use 4.1mm drills - believe me I have just finished this part of the job as you know. I got a small box of 10 drills for a few ££ from a local tool shop - as in proper tool shop, not B&Q type tool shop. I have used them randomly from the box and broken one, which was a bit of a b****r as it was the one I had shortened to do one of the awkward holes - and there are some - so I had to shorten another one. johnnystorm
Cheers for that! Off to search out 4.1 bits.....
predawson
One or maybe two bits should be sufficient provided you keep the drill speed down and apply decent pressure. Drill bit will be cutting then not grinding so won't overheat and won't go blunt.
corsechris
RS (or Electromail) do nice, short 4.1 drills designed for drilling sheet metal...they have a wee pointy pip on the end to self-centre on. Work a treat on ali, steel & FRP or even a sandwich of all 3 at once.
