taffy Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 Calling Mr Hawkins - The Superstar of Westfield non blow off headgear Andy, that looks like it may be the solution for my problem Looks like some sort of Russian army surplus! The Westy baseball caps are good but my head is the wrong shape, guess it may have to be a Westy woolen hat then Neil? Yesterday I used a combination of baseball cap<60mph and Bobble hat>60mph. geelhoed Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Never wear a at.Yer can't bear air in yer hair That may be OK for us younger guys, but when the years start counting the the hair isn't secured so well to the scalp anymore..... Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 baseball cap with velcro adjuster. never comes off. ive lost 2 with the buckle adjuster a nd one with popper notches on it. So do you have to shave your head first to stick the Velcro on or do you just staple it to you head Quote
Blatman Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 I've got a fleecy hat thing with flaps (sort of like a modern Deer-hunter hat) which come down and tie under your chin - that b******* isn't going anywhere, even with an aeroscreen Deer stalker my friend. I think it's time to come home... Quote
Mat Jackson Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Deer-stalker............... We are not back on to the hunting thread again are we!!!! Quote
Mark Purves Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Baseball cap with hat catcher attached, so if it does come off you can just wind it back in. Quote
adhawkins Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 While we're on the subject, Neil did look at sourcing 'my' hat, with a view to slapping a WSCC logo on it. Any joy Neil? I think it should become part of the club 'uniform' Andy Quote
darthurs Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 At the Harrogate kit car show I saw someone who had a baseball cap with a piece of string tying it to the roll bar, so if it did fly off they wouldn't lose it. Good idea I though. Dan Quote
adhawkins Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 That's what Mark Purves is referring to above... I can't see the point personally. Perhaps I also have the wrong shaped head, but I couldn't keep a baseball cap on my head above 70 or so. Andy Quote
Mark Purves Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Andy correct but we use velcro at each end, one to hat and one to rollbar. Also cap does not come off until in excess of 100mph. Quote
adhawkins Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Also cap does not come off until in excess of 100mph. Perhaps the aeroscreen makes the difference? Andy Quote
Jeddy Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 Anyone had experience of these? North Face Granite cap Berghaus Mountain hat Both have chin straps so should stay on. Not sure what sort of fashion statement they make though. Quote
