geofff
Hi All, Does C/F cut the same as GRP? Fine tooth hacksaw with masking tape over the bit I'm cutting? Any tips welcome! Thanks Geoff
Blatman
Sounds OK to me. Final shaping with a file, no worries. Wear a mask and gloves though. Carbon fibre splinters are a sod...
geofff
Hi Blatman, Should I edge it with a bit of rubber strip where my dash and boot cover will meet the GRP bodywork? Stop it scratching when on the move. Ta Geoff
felters
Geoff - the dust off CF is awful stuff - try and use a decent vacuum cleaner to suck the dust away as you're working. The dash and boot cover shouldn't be moving about. I haven't put a rubber edge on mine. Good luck!
mb893
Masking tape both sides/fibre cutting blade & jigsaw/Dremel/HD Face mask/Goggles. I've put rubber edge on my boot box cover - 1mm thick CF is akin to a razor
Blatman
Nope, no rubber edge on my dash or boot panels either...
geofff
Hi, I'll see if I get nice smooth edges when I've cut it and then edge or not as appropriate. Thanks Geoff
felters
am I the only guy around here with a CF/Nomex honeycombe boot lid cover?
