Mark Stanton Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 The obvious way to get a definitive answer if people are not happy already with the fact that both the Sprint Leaders Championship (an MSA official by the way) and the Midland have deemed these mods to be OK, is for someone to officially protest one or more of the cars that have modified suspension. This will mean putting your money down Spot on Guy Tis much easier to obtain a full clarification on any matter by following the correct and clearly defined procedures for any Chmapionship or MSA ruling - rather than rely of conjecture and differing personal interpretation Quote
RICHARD+PHILIP Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 All this Because Mick had a dream! What would of happened if it had been a nightmare!!!!!! If 15 of us bought sequential boxes then gave them to westfield to build cars around would that be a production run? mmmmm I wonder! Do quaife do bulk discounts!!!!!! Quote
Arm Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 supercharger/turbo on a 1.6 you would probably do very well. Would that then put you in the over 1700 (SS 1800) class ? Spot on Guy Tis much easier to obtain a full clarification on any matter by following the correct and clearly defined procedures for any Chmapionship or MSA ruling - rather than rely of conjecture and differing personal interpretation Mark I never understood why you always said 'please put your comments in writing to the organisers'. Now I understand. . Quote
Mrs Westy Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Well if this weekend is anything to go by...yes, it would make them 2240cc... Nice signature, BTW Quote

Turbo Tommo Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Now there's something I do stand a chance at! Hic!! Quote
mhc Posted September 24, 2004 Author Posted September 24, 2004 RICHARD/PHILLIP, i may be wrong, but Westfield being a specialist car manufacturer would only have to build 5 cars with sequential gearboxes. There are already 5 cars at least equiped with these boxes , so therefore Westfield would only need to build one. To achieve the correct number, and too receive homologation.Regards. Quote
Westfieldman Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Mick pay me and I will put a sequential gearbox in my Duratec car Quote
windy Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Andy If you want a definitive answer then as has been said you must make a formal request to the MSA. Ash If you make a formal request to the MSA they'll never respond. I'm still waiting for an answer from them on my class query for Escort exclusion at Hethel. Quote
Blatman Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 For Blatman: The process to defend against an objection is irrelevant until an "official" protest has been made. As far as I can remember this has to be done at a meeting in writing to the Clerk of the Course, and requires the payment of a fee which is only returned if the protest is upheld - the BB tells you all about how to make a protest. This is why one tends to ask for a clarification of the regulations (from someone who is responsible for the relevant championship eligibility matters for instance) rather than make an "official" protest - that and it the fact that it can be very embarassing if it all goes wrong!! Kev Bamber Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 The original Q by Mick was regarding if Westfield make a sequential gearbox car (CEC), can it run in A/B/C or D - or at least that how I understood him. As I see it regardless of what Westfield make or the BB says, the answer is NO. The current SS regs, para 3.2 says cars with sequential will be classsed as modified & placed in E or F. Seems clear even to a Lancashire lad, as it says on the tin, current regs don't presently allow seq in WSS roadgoing, whatever. Now can we have another topic? Quote
Mark Stanton Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 If it takes 1 man 10 days to dig a hole 30 feet square x 30 feet deep with one shovel that can hold 1 cubic yard of earth - how long will it take 3 men with turbo'd sequential shovels that are lightweight carbon with handles in different positions that can hold 2 cubic yards Is that a different enough topic for ya Kev Quote
Mrs Westy Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 Have the shovel owners drilled holes in the shovels in an attempt to save weight? Quote
SteveD Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 mark can you put it in writing please Quote
