markh1970
Hi all, Have found a company in Cambridge (nr Milton), who can service my BEC engine. R. Holmes Motor Services. Anybody had experience of them? Thanks, just checking them out first....
moomin
Hi Mark, What are they proposing they do to it that's special? At the end of the dya it's just a Hayabusa engine, which should be serviced pretty much as per the bike. FWIW I've never heard of them (and live in Cambridge). moomin
markh1970
Thanks moomin, Nothing special to be done, just a service, just sounding out if they are good guys. Charge about £38 an hour (3 hours work) for service. Just for my piece of mind

markh1970
Would be interested if you teach me along the way Am totally newbie, better of fixing and working computers. Am keen to learn
moomin
Well if you want to learn to not be scared of DIYing, there's only one way, and that's to get stuck in. Depending on what you have in mind as a service, I would gladly help out where I could. I'm no pro-spanner-man (also an IT geek), but I did build my car, and have done mild servicing on it. I'm just up the road from you anyway. If you can work out what needs doing, we can decide from there - how many miles has it done, you should be able to get hold of the service schedule (possibly in a Haynes manual). moom
markh1970
Cheers moomin, Just got a holiday, wedding (my own! and a honeymoon to get out of the way, and I will take you up on the helping hand. You are right to say I should just get stuck in. Time to read those manuals, and get my hands dirty. Cheers

CrashBangWallop
MILD SERVICING?!? That car has a better life than me (admittedly, that's pretty easy)! I wish I slept in your garage. Heh heh. Probably gets washed more often, too
