Andy_Landy
Great news. I'm the happy owner of modules 1 & 2 of the SEi duratec model. Only had it since the weekend and the rear suspension + diff is in place but a I have a question ..... I'm using the limited slip sierra diff (3.92) but what diff oil should go in it? Is there a performance type you'd recommend, should I go direct to Ford or will anything do? stubbow
You need to use API GL5 grade I used millers which came highly recomended Danny
Barry Ashcroft
I went to ford and got the correct oil. This is probably not needed but my diff was brandnew from westfield at huge expense so I thought the ford oil with receipt was the best way to go for any future warrenty problems. Barry Part no is in garage if needed
scruffythefirst
I went to ford and got part no F1197783, for the princely sum of 5.56 inc vat. Thats for a 2.9 xr 4x4 lsd.
Crash Override
I used Castrol Hypoy LS gear oil (SAE90), from Demon tweeks

Andy_Landy
Thanks for the advice - it's looking like a trip to the local Ford dealer is in order. I've a brand new diff from Westfield and I'd better go for the recommend oil for warrenty reasons. Does the quality and grade of diff oil have an effect on performance or prolong the life of the equipment?
Blatman
Yes. Make sure you put GL5 in the diff. Whether it's EP80 or EP90 won't make any odds, it's the GL5 spec that's important. This is NOT necessarilly the case for the gearbox though, so do not assume that the same oil can be used for both...
