scott beeland Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 heres a pic of my (well my dads) car. mike What offset are those rear wheels? They look very far into the arches Must be mighty close to shocks etc Quote
Monkeylegend Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 One more question, i'm going to become a police officer, do you think this will lower my insurance costs because i have car training? No point in being a Copper and owning a Westfield. You won't be able to speed Mind you ,you'ld probably get let off if you did, so can I retract my first sentence. Quote
Mat Jackson Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Mike, Sorry to go off thread. On the photos of your ZETEC I see you have a filter fitted directly to your cam cover breather, rather than a hose. Where did you get this from? Mat Quote
Mike Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 What offset are those rear wheels? They look very far into the arches Must be mighty close to shocks etc not sure. but we do have some spacers for it to fit. just dont fancy fitting them incase they stress anything. are currently saving up for 2 new wheels at a biggerr offset. any one know the ideal offset for rear? from what i remember they are an offset for a peugot? as recommended by the factory? On the photos of your ZETEC I see you have a filter fitted directly to your cam cover breather, rather than a hose. its a little k&n filter. bought from local motor sports specialist who tuned and setup the car pre-sva. stu999 Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 If you ever get the chance to drive a HGV take it, you'll have alot of respect and patience for HGV's when your driving on the roads, espicailly roundabouts, junctions and tight city/town driving. I think a lesson driving an artic should be compulsory for all drivers. Wholeheartedly agree with that-and a couple of weeks on a motorbike wouldnt go amiss either... Quote
Crash Override Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Good one Stu, Motorbikes as well. I normally move as far to the left as I can when there's a motorbike behind me then they can slip by without crossing the white line, my feeling is that they're going to go by sooner or later so allow them room to do it safely for both them and yourself. Luke, I have asked my cousin and this is what he has replied back with hope it helps: Dependent on the company it can make a difference, usually for the better. There are companies who seek to attract police officers and they usually advertise in police publications. The more driving courses you pass can also make a difference but not much. Quote
Luke_Eliasz Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 Thats good news, thanks very much crash for asking, i appreiciate it. Quote
wills-Megablade Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 My lovely Lady is one of those Police people....She has found driving courses or not, the insurance is more expensive now than when she was a secretary before....something to do with more likely to get a car damaged when people find out what you do. Moral....Putting on a skirt and typing away=cheaper insurance!!! Quote
Luke_Eliasz Posted August 16, 2004 Author Posted August 16, 2004 Can i ask by how much your wifes insurance went up by. Quote
wills-Megablade Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 About 120 pounds - which in percentage terms was about 10 to 20% more!!! its a bit daft really as since changing jobs she has learnt to throw people about, so god help anyone who messes with her Mazda now!!! Quote
