healthfreak
Anyone recommend a good bike engine mechanic. I'm now the proud owner of two knackered Blackbird engines thanks to a broken scavenge pump. Hopefully I'll get a bulk discount!! I'm not shy of travelling to get a good service/reasonable pricing...... Cheers Pat

ChrisG
The thing is if they've died from oil starvation then its quite likely that the cost to fix them will be about as much as the cost of a new engine. The cranks are rarely salvagable as they are coated, there will likely be piston / bore / con'rod damage and the gasket sets etc are expensive (£150-250), so even doing it yourself its a fair old hit. I looked at rebuilding the two blade engine's Ive gone through, but I ended up breaking them for spares and flogging some of the bits on Ebay which gets a reasonable return and softens the blow of the new engine.
