Blatman
I am in desperate need of the standard Escort handbrake gaiter, to fit my Escort handbrake lever, as fitted to my narrow bodied car. Cash waiting.............
Nick M
I take it that it's different to the one that came with SEiWs ?? Is that a Sierra one ? Got one of those spare you can have if it's any good....
Blatman
I'm pretty sure they're different. If I get desperate, can I let you know? I can bodge almost anything, so a rubber gaiter shouldn't be any trouble.......... Mind you, I don't know when they switched from the Escort lever to the Sierra lever.... Westfieldman
Why do you need one? Binned mine after SVA [just the gaitor for now] Paul.
Blatman
just the gaitor for now Thats what I want. Just the gaitor........ Can't have a big hole in the tunnel top. It'll fail scrutineering.......
DAVE O
Is this scrutineering for the SS? I've no gaiter and thus have a large hole round the lever on the tunnel! Didn't get pulled at Shelsley with it!? Regards, Dave O.
Blatman
Yeah, but with my luck.......... You're probably right, I just don't wanna chance it.....
Mark Stanton
The scruters at Harewood don't like holes like that especially in the bulkhead They get worried about fumes entering the cockpit area Yes I know, don't ask - but they like to see gaitors around gear levers and handbrakes wherever poss
DickieB
What's wrong with masking tape? It'll look at home on your blue car...
DAVE O
I'd better get one of these ali- gaiter things to stick in the tool box in case I get pulled for not having one! Does anybody have a part No. Or what car there off etc? Thanks Dave O.
hilux
What hole NB: photo taken without adjuster cover plate fitted before anyone starts
Blatman
What's wrong with masking tape? It'll look at home on your blue car Not any more......it's looking quite tidy. About time too........ Hilux. That looks suspiciously like a Mini handbrake........and some scruters would still want to see what little gap there was covered. When you consider how much we spend for a sprint ('cos we double drive, and generally B&B it, plus fuel etc), it'd be daft to fail scrutineering for a £10 part........
