westy Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 I believe the term for tonight’s performance is another partial success Quote
markg Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 lovely empty roads apart from traffic from cosford airshow! one of the coppers directing traffic shouted nice motor mate as i went past Quote
scott beeland Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 Now I'm not that partial to football....but Mr Beckham needs to be shot and apart from Rooney the rest of the team were s**t. So who's betting on how far England won't go...And I won't say "we" as the football analogy goes; coz I wouldnt want to be compared to such an overpaid; over rated bunch of nunneys . Am I upset that "we" lost...................? Couldn't give a ****e Quote
cashy Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 England threw it away last night as we all know. But remember that France are the favourites to win euro 2004, England were beating them till the 91st minute, and if overpaid Bex would have scored from the spot it would have been 2 nil. Also when the french player brought down rooney in the box, how come he wasnt sent of, surely he was the last man!!!! Lets make sure we beat them in the final!!!!!!!!!! (fingers and everything else crossed) Quote

Two - One.... PPS: The sooner they're coming home the sooner we can return to normality Quote
ROC Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Why are English people happy to see the team lose? I don't get it Quote
S8ight Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Why are English people happy to see the team lose? I don't get it its traditional plus it shows how much of a waste of money every single one of the players are Quote
Thrustyjust Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 my neighbours went quiet when I shouted,'come on France'.Hopefully if England carry on playing crap,we'll be out and everyone will realise what a dull, muppet playing arses they are.It was nice too see Beckhams able to string three words together after the match, before say 'eeerrr'.I only saw that as waiting for Top Gear. Nice to strip my rear brakes on the Westie, with relatively no road traffic zooming by. Quote
frubpato? Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Being a Celt I had a top time last night, phoning all my English "buddies" who were having Euro parties and laughing manically down the phone - Serves the fans right for singing "are you Scotland in disguise?" Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted June 14, 2004 Author Posted June 14, 2004 And for all our Scottish brothers out there supporting us its not the winning it’s the taking part. Oops sorry your not are you Quote

predawson Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Why do we always slag our teams off? 3 goals were scored, all legitamate. When they were scored doesn't matter. We lost 2-1 to the favorites. Why slag the team off? Quote
neilwillis Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 I think there is a particular element among us who do not give a toss for football, and think it is over rated. Shame on us I personally feel ambivalent about football (well I would, living in Wolverhampton). The players are all extremely overpayed (what, jealous, me?) and see themselves as something special. Only last night the England team were described as heroes - but why exactly? The game has been marred for years by blatant play acting by a lot of the players, an inate ability of the referees to make the wrong decisions, and the FA is run by a bunch of amateurs. For something as important (ahem) as the national game, surely, with the technology available, they could at least introduce the third umpire, and sort it out once and for all. The fiasco over Wembley stadium also says a lot about the way the game is run over here. Quote
Martin Keene Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Well Said... As I said to somebody at work this morning when asked why I didn't like football. Because (most) of the players are a bunch of pretenious (spelling? ) over paid w##kers... His response (knowing I like all things car)was fairly typical for a footie fan... What about Formula 1 drivers salaries? My reponse: Yes, they're over paid as well. Quote
