david.c Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 So many nice cars ..........it's at times like this that I'm glad I don't (read can't afford) have to make the choice David Quote
hilux Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Drive a boxster you will be as suprised as I was I thought about one until I read up on them and was surprised at how many have blown engines 911 derivatives `seem` to be much more reliable. PS How much is a replacement GT3 engine if you pop it......................guess................ Ceramic discs are £7000 extra but if you have a decent porker and want to upgrade, how much...............guess......................................which is why Porsche dont now offer them since a lot have micro cracked and they will now not replace under warranty. If I had the money I`d still have one. Anyone that can make a rear engined beetle go and handle like they do is worth serious respect IMO Quote
Ian Gratton Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Another good choice... I guess depends on new or used - if thats the case its a whole new boardgame. Quote
Crash Override Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Just been reading this months Track and Race Cars Magazine, what about the Ariel Atom 2 £20k for the standard road car or £30k for the 220 Racer (still road legal). Uses the Honda Civic Type R engine, 220bhp at 8,200rpm which makes it 460bhp per ton, 144lb ft of torque at 6100rpm. I must admit if I had that sort of money I would probably buy one it's very nice. Edited to add picture. It does have removable headlights. Quote
tr mike Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 How about something new with a hopped up LS1/LS6 hybrid engine. 400 odd hp, soft top, 1100kgs, 6 speed box and about £44k. The new Marcos TSO. There is a 350 hp version for about 36k:) Quote

I read a story in EVO the other week about a Porsche owner being presented with a bill for £27,000 (yes £27k! ) for 4 replacement ceramic discs and pads... A lot of owners have started to take them of, replace them with steel and keep the ceramics in the garage for the bling factor on resale... Quote

Rob Navin Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 My cousin is selling his mint Ferrari 348TB for just a bit over 35k. Nice motor Drop me an e-mail if you want more details Quote
scott beeland Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 In my opinion the BEST "real money" Ferrari. Still more money than my real money though Quote
