scorcher Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Going to have approx. 30k to spend once Westie /BMW sold ( see for sale) and re-mortgage is completed.Any suggestions on what to buy as a toy?Needs to be head turning and have that WOW factor. Not particulary bothered about speed /handling/ running costs.( but a bonus) TVR..Dont want older shape as they look dated compared to the newer designs...but most seem to be out of budget. Lotus..Elise too popular and boring...Exige better but lacking that WOW factor/ expensive/not keen on rover engines BMW..New ones Boring Classics...Boring and i'm only 35. Evo's and scoobys..ok but not head turning Ford lightning......tempted ( test driven ) corvette....tempted awaiting test drive Vx 220 VXR ltd Edition....tempted...awaiting test drive New kit car.....Fancy V8/ bike engined mega power Noble...out of budget Any other suggestions??? Big Bad Ben Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 How about an Ultima? I think they look the dog's danglies. You should be able to get a decent one for £30k BBB Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Classics...Boring and i'm only 35. I beg ones for-******-giveness but isnt the Westfield range (excluding 11, that 80s wierd thing, XTR2, XTR4 range) based on a pre 1979 car??!?!?! plus, Classics boring, ME THINKS NOT!!!! Quote
Martin Keene Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 I'd vote for the Ultima. A bloke in the same village as my parents as just built a Can-Am version, with full screen, and a 420bhp small block... weighs in at 900kgs... or 466bhp / tonne... or about the same as an Enzo... Quote
westy Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 my shortlist: tvr tuscan (if you dont need to rely on it) porshe boxster s possibly slightly out of budget at 30-35k 348 ferrari early aston martin db7 In the same boat I would probably buy an x sprint car and keep it for track use for 10k, and a 2.5 litre boxster for 20k Quote

Martin Keene Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 I think he said it was £35k so its a bit out for a new build, but you'd get a v.nice 2nd hand one. That reminds me... need to tap him up for a ride Edited to add: Tuning small blocks is stupidly cheap he got a brand new pair of Edlebrock ally cylinder heads out of the states for £800... Quote
