Another smashing day out, thanks as ever to Julie & Glen. Roads pretty quiet and we had a fab drive up and back. A little foggy but all adds to the fun.

There is something quite magical about driving a Westie in the fog. As long as it's not too bad, it's quite exciting.

Some of my most memorable kit car moments have been in the fog, like the time at about 5.30am on the A46 heading towards Stroud, when I was the only car on the road for miles around and I suddenly heard this thuck, thuck, thuck sound.

Ah bum, flat tyre I thought, but no vibration? Looked up to my right and a low flying Chinook had spotted me, he changed course and came straight towards me and buzzed me!

I could literally see guys in the windows waving! I lost the plot and started waving and screaming like some loony! It was a true 'special moment' of my kit car life, I felt like I was in Top Gun or some such film. I will never ever forget that blat!

I wish I'd had a 360° camera that I can tell you, what a video that would have made!
