Enterpryse
Just replaced an old coil with another with 3 Ohm DC resistance. Although not specifically for electronic ignition does it matter. Its started missing badly just above under light load then coming in strong under acceleration, just a thought it could be the new coil. Otherwise I'll replace the leads anyway tomorrow. If anyone fancies lending a hand tomorrow in Kenilworth I'd be grateful etc etc its just that SVA have brought forward the test from the 11th May to 28th April and I'm paniking to say the least !!!!! 07717 677898 Thanks Stuart
Enterpryse
Bought one anyway. Bang - there goes the club subs ;-)
YouMustBeJoking
The ignitor instructions are quite specific. Mine states it is compatible with only a points style coil with a minimum resistance of 3 ohms for a 4 cylinder engine. The module will be damaged by an HEI coil, whatever that is. So... It looks as though you have inadvertently bought the correct coil. The sort of luck I never seem to have
Enterpryse
I measured the resistance before fitting aftre reading the same bumf , so not too much luck really. I figured the one I had with home made ballast might be causing a misfire under low load but on reflection and a tweak of the carbs it seems more of a fueling problem. Anyways I bought the Flamethrower coil and a new set of leads to boot as my deadline was approaching and didn't have time to look for the faults. Thanks for the reply.
