Aintree sprint or maybe not

Just went for a last minute blat before my first Speed series meet tomorrow and the bl**** fan has packed up :down:  :arse:  :(

just how stupid would it be to try and s a sprint meet without a fan :durr:  :sheep:

Apreciate any advice

If you're careful, and ambient temps aren't too high (and assuming your cooling system is pretty efficient), it should be do-able. The emphasis is on careful though.

Are you sure the fan fault isn't easily remedied? I mean, unless the actual motor has failed, or the blades have dropped off, it shouldn't be too hard to fix. There'll be plenty of folk in the paddock who'd be willing to help, I'm sure.....

Connect direct to battery feed and earth to check if motor ok.

If it is just wire it on all time and bypass the temp sender.

I think you should be ok anyway as on a short 55sec to 60sec run my fan would never cut in anyway and there is loads of time to cool down between runs

The fan's only relevant in traffic jams, so don't leave it running warm and stationary...

Cars dedicated to sprinting don't have fans. So don't worry about it.

Just think of all that BHP you'll save by not running a fan.  Many racers don't run a fan either - there's plenty of air passing through the rad anyway!
