Still waiting for an offer, hopefully in the next few days.

Fingers crossed they give you a good offer and don't mess you around mate.

My personal experience with writing off a tin top or two is that the offer might be low.  Don't be afraid to reject the offer if it doesn't match your expectations.  Reject it politely and firmly, explaining in detail (include evidence of the sale price of other Westfields of similar age and equipment levels) why you think the valuation is too low in your opinion, and tell them to go back and reconsider, then contact you back.

Thanks, sound advice.

I understand that the rule of thumb is to reject the first offer. Indeed the member of staff i spoke to on Tuesday, went over rejecting it too, so they must be expecting it.

As Captain said, prepare and give them your expectations and sound rational. I too have been through the pain with a tin top and did just that, list of cars with similar mileages, specs and ages. they could not really argue too much once the evidence was provided.

it may be quite easy with a factory spec Mondeo but as it's potentially difficult to find an exact match for a Westi you may have to provide some higher and lower spec cars and justify where yours sits. You may even be able to talk to people like toy box on the likely price they'd be selling a car of that spec for.

good luck

Another sad day today, only made worse by KGM insurance inactivity and dragging their feet. They really were awful to deal with, despite me calling them weekly to chase them up. Not only did my emails go unanswered, but were actually unread for over a week!

I've included some images of the damage. The N/S lowered floor was also rippled, but hard to photograph and the scuttle panel was pushed up a good inch. Allowing daylight into the footwell.

They wanted over £5k to buy it back, so certainly not viable for me anyway.

Wait and see if they come back to you when they realise they are not going to get £5k for it elsewhere. You never know!

These companies do like to try it on with customers don't they!

My condolences, I know how much passion and attachment theses cars create within us. A sad day indeed, I wish you well on the next part of your car journey. Hopefully you can find a suitable alternative for that dopamine hit. A Lotus maybe?
