As you've got silicone hoses - make sure whatever coolant you use is compatible - see this for details

Thanks @Captain Colonial.

I'm sure the original Westfield manual states pink?.. but then again, I've lost track of how many times the manual was incorrect, particularly the pre SVA version.

Points noted and will get them sorted.👍

Engines made after 1998 normally need antifreeze that uses silicate-free, organic acid technology (OAT), usually pink or orange in colour.  These types of antifreeze offer better corrosion protection so that parts don't need to be changed as often.

Engines made before 1998 usually need antifreeze that isn't OAT-based and does contain silicate, are usually blue or green in colour and are safe for silicone hoses.  Downside is it needs changing every 2-3 years.

Nice build, looks good.

Ignition is the standard Ford ecu set up, with a standard road cam. Fast road cam should be fine, a wild cam that won’t tick over would be a prob. Engine runs smoother and picks up better with the vac advance connected.

As for the antifreeze, as far as I understand, you should be ok as long as you don’t mix with another colour as coagulation and blockages are prone when mixed.

Found the page in the manual. Seems there is a difference of opinions 🤔

An error in a Westfield build manual?  Perish the thought!
