I'm afraid AV8 is closed on Sundays Paul! Have been since Covid. Unless that has changed of course which the guy who runs the place told me it wouldn't. Also shut Mondays. I will double check though mate.

Yep, still shut on Sundays and Mondays unfortunately

Thanks @Flying Carrot Steve, I’ll be relying on you as the fount of all knowledge on these things!

I go up to AV8 quite often and can never remember which day it is they’re shut. If they don’t reinstate Sundays by then, we’ll pick somewhere else when the time comes.

Thanks for all the replies and messages, on here and elsewhere, it’s great to have the support. Here’s some plans for the year ahead.

Runouts:
Seems like some regular Sunday morning breakfast runouts are the way to go, and I’ve come up with these for 2025:

Sunday 9 March - run to The Classic Motor Hub

Sunday 6 April - run to Five Zeros Supercars

Sunday 4 May - run to Haynes Breakfast Club

Sunday 25 May - Horton Classic Vehicle Meet and then run to AV8 cafe

Sunday 22 June - run to The Old Prison

Sunday 3 August - run to Baffle Haus

Sunday 14 September - TBC

Sunday 5 October - TBC

I’ll post up the details of each run separately and we can arrange timings and meeting points etc, based on who’s coming.

And as well as the runouts, there’s lots more happening -

Track days:

As usual there’s lots of track day activity throughout the year from the group. Castle Combe is our home track and we can often be found there, plus some of us are heading to Llandow, Donington Park and other tracks this year. There is a double-header trip to Anglesey and Oulton Park, and Kitnet also have their annual private charity kit car track day at Castle Combe (jump on to their website for details). I’ll post details of the main events separately.

Events:

Malvern of course, joining the convoy as it passes through, and I’m also going to try the new Lincoln show this year. We also have loads of local events and meets, again I’ll post these up separately when we get involved. One local event is the Cotswold Barn car and bike evening meet, which happens monthly, and I’m planning for the first one on Wednesday 2 April.

And probably more that I’ve forgotten to mention!

I’m thinking about coming along to the 5 zeros meet on the 6th. I haven’t driven the Westfield yet this year, so really need to get out in it.  I’m coming from south wales so it’s a bit if a boring drive, but I might set off early and try and avoid the motorway as much as possible.

it will be really weather dependent for me as well.

Do we need to book or is it just turn up there?  Anyone meeting in the way?

I was also thinking that the south wales aviation museum is worth a visit. It’s not too far from the old post baffle haus, so could be worth meeting up at baffle haus for  breakfast and then a quick blast to the aviation museum at some point. The old post gets busy quite quick though, so getting there close to 9am would be recommended, which I appreciate might not be ideal for people coming from further away.

That will be great @kik1.6se, hopefully the weather will be kind and we’ll see you for the Five Zero trip. I’ll post up details of that trip soon and we can arrange a route there. No need to book in advance.

And great shout on the south wales aviation museum, I’ve not been there before.
