Have you tried asking Christoph bettag

He has a very good knowledge of cars in Germany

Looks like the car has had some work done or parts purchased so maybe christoph sold them these parts

As that bodywork is way to new for that year of car  along with the screen pillars

Some tax discs were hand written so it might be possible to work out some or all of the registration number if whoever wrote it was heavy handed ! If you have any other paperwork with the car you might find the registration somewhere. I had a problem with a car I had years ago and managed to find my reg number from part of it by doing a couple of HPI checks.

maybe the vin decoder is wrong regarding the first registration.  The car has an contoured dash. Was that available in 1991?

the car was registered in Germany for the first time in 2015

Most 35 year old Westfields will have been modified and upgraded by their owners at some point over that time.

Car has detachable rear arches and I don't think they were available in 1991

I only have the German vehicle documents. I haven't bought the car yet and I want to make sure that everything is OK. The engine needs some TLC as it is very oily. But that is not a problem for me. I have had a few cars with the Rover V8. I just want to rule out that there is something wrong with the documents. The tax sticker is from 1974, so not from the Westfield. I will take a closer look at the car next week and take photos. Rear axle, dashboard and what else?

Hi Ralph, welcome to the club & great to see another SEight 👏🤝 on the road. As @Rednop1 says above there appears to be some mods done including wide track from end - mine is 1998 & the original “standard front track” and yours appears much wider

also @Rednop1 wasn’t the early SEights built without the ducted nosecone?

To me the car appears to be fitted with ZK bodywork which wasn’t released until a long time after 1991.

But at nearly 35 years old it’s not unexpected the original body became tired and it’s had a newer replacement at some time in its life.

Thank you all very much. I have been in a few car clubs in my life but I have never been welcomed in such a friedly and helpfull manner. My Seven will definitly be a Westfield. The Seight or another.

I have seen the pictures of this car before probably on the Facebook group was sometime ago  and somebody else was asking questions I see hundreds of different westfield but what made it stick in my mind was that bodywork on such a early car

A v8 car in Germany I would say is a very item drop christoph bettag or Frank primarily a message I'm such they were involved in the conversation when it was posted on Facebook before .

But if you are looking to purchase it makesure you give the chassis a good inspection around the diff cage and pay special attention to the front on the chassis and the engine mounts they always crack .

Frank and Christoph do not  know the car.
According to the German registration, the first registration was in 1974. This can only be that of the donor vehicle or simply an error by the authorities.
