Wow, that’s a serious amount of work to remove an FW diff 😳

Hi @Mole

What was the reason for removing all the rear bodywork

I thought that was the easiest way to get the diff out.. I had to get the tank out first..which meant I had to lift the rear bodywork, which meant taking the arches off first.. I could only lift the bodywork a certain way because of the roll cage..which meant removing seats, inner panels to get at the roll cage nuts.. then lift the rear bodywork off... Then tank access was easy, then remove tank carrier frame, which m ant undoing wishbone bolts.. then removing fixed brake pipe from one side..then removing diff studs..

Have taken suspension arms off to clean up too and replace metalastic bushes... And clean up calipers whilst off and replace brake pads...also a good opportunity to check over all the chassis..which looks in good condition..

Nice job, have you replaced the rear bulkhead, if not what product did you use to degrease and clean?

Thanks in advance.

I carried out a front end refurb last winter & brought all parts, shocks - springs - powerflex, fixing etc for both front/rear so I’m planning rear end refurb for this winter. But now fear the bar is set sooo high I need a pole-vault. Looks the dogs dangler's…
Hope mines looks half that good come mid-March

Thankyou @RickRack

it was a lot of work but worth it.
it all started from the diff upgrade to LSD.
