Haynes Manual for 1.6 CVH

I would guess the drive train is probably from a Sierra. Not sure about the CVH engine. According to this, the engine was used in the Escort, Fiesta and Sierra.

A Sierra manual might just cover most of the mechanicals then.

Having got a copy of Haynes " Rebuilding and tuning Ford's CVH engine" I wouldn't recommend it as it doesn't have much workshop manual stuff in it. It's more of an extended magazine article on general rebuilding.

I will PM you cos i've got some other info might be useful.

I know very little about cars, full-stop.  I have both the Haynes Fiesta manual that covers the CVH in all it's forms plus the OVH and Zetec.  If you plan on rebuilding the engine the "Rebuilding and Tuning the Ford CVH" seems a good book (obviously a bit of knowledge is required to understand it).  Not read that much of it as, I've just acquired a copy but, it goes into detail on a complete strip and rebuild.  The Fiesta manual has been great for me.  A lot of stuff you don't need (unless you have a Fiesta).  If it's just for general maintainance work on the engine... the Fiesta manual is the one to go for.  Or, I presume, the escort manual, too. ???

Regards,

Neil

I've got a factory built 1.6 CVH (1998) SEIW - does anyone know which Haynes manual I should buy??

Sounds like the same spec car as mine! :D

I use the Fiesta manual for engine bits and DavidR is correct, the Rebuilding CVH engines manual is crap!  :D

The undisputed Guru on the CVH is Mike Tanski from Farriday engineering.
