Looking at mine then, it seems they are just flush with the inner face of the bonnet not the outer surface. Are there are any advantages/disadvantages or is it purely a cosmetic choice kind of thing? Although I do actually quite like them recessed. I haven't seen them flush yet though. One thing it has made me think is that my mesh is small, maybe fitting ones with larger mesh would aid hot air escaping?
