Hemsley
Does anyone here have experience visiting the Lofoten Islands recently? I will be visiting in May with a few friends and we are trying to find out how people get around the islands. Is the public transport sufficient? Bus transport exists, but I understand only on the main route and not frequent. Car hire in the islands is about 3 x cost of hiring on the mainland, which would be an option for us. 2 of us will be heading up into the mountains for 2 or 3 days (https://www.68north.com/lofoten-hikes/hiking-hermannsdalstind/), while the other 2 will probably do more sightseeing (and may benefit from a car). Last time I visited the islands was 40 years ago, long before they built roads and bridges. Any hints or tips would be welcome.
