Overview

The Speedsport was the model refined by the Westfield Race Division works drivers, to provide the ultimate in high performance and handling. This one is fitted with a Scholar modified “Formula Ford” type 1800 Zetec engine, producing a verified 175 bhp and giving a sub 4.8s 0-62mph. The car is a high specification factory modular build. It has a widebody and fully independent suspension. It was registered in 1999. It has been maintained regardless of cost and was a Westfield Area Organiser car. It has only been used as a road car. It has done 19,700 miles and is located just north of Lincoln. £12,995 ono

 

Engine
175bhp Scholar Formula Ford Zetec Silvertop engine.  Raceline dry sump system. Raceline water rail. Debadged, polished and chromed camcover. Raceline sparkplug cover, Magnecore KV85 HT leads. Baffled and part foam filled fuel tank. Full set of A&H aluminium tanks for coolant, screen-wash, dry sump tank and catch tank; all bespoke to this vehicle.  Silicon & braided stainless-steel hoses throughout. Jenvey throttle bodies. Carbon backplate on air filter. Custom made stainless steel 4 into 1 exhaust. Xtreme lightweight gel battery with Accumate charging port. In 2022 the old MBE ECU system was replaced by Northampton Motorsport with an Omex 600 ECU; including full sensors, injectors and full remap. Cambelts were also changed at the same time.

 

Body
Midnight blue with lockable V8 bonnet and ducted nosecone. Carbon fibre rear stone-guards., removable rear arches. RAC roll bar with LED high level brake light. Side screens and roof included. Colour coded wing mirrors, windscreen pillars and headlights


Wheels, Tyres, Brakes, Gearbox, Suspension, Drivetrain
15” wheels with Toyo R1R tyres (195/55/R15) all round, including spare. Wide track front suspension with rose jointed top wishbone and quick camber adjusters. Trakspax rose jointed shock absorbers. Front and rear anti roll bars. Nylon bushes all round. Wilwood 4 pot front brakes with polymatrix fast road pads. Drilled and grooved discs all round.  2.4 ratio quick steering rack with alloy rack mounts. Lightweight flywheel with AP Caterham CSR spec. clutch. MT75 gearbox with short shift. Hydraulic release bearing. Lightweight competition starter motor. Limited slip differential. Lightweight hubs and uprights. Uprated SBD engine mounts.

 

Interior

Adjustable Westfield sport seats with four-point Willans harnesses. Contoured dashboard with glovebox, double USB power socket and removable mobile phone holder. Self-cancelling indicators both on the dash and steering wheel. Momo quick release steering wheel in Alcantara with contrast blue stitching. Fully carpeted. Stack rev counter with programmable shift up light. Two speed heater. & demister. Floor mounted pedals. Fire extinguisher under dashboard.

 

Optional floor mounted carbon fibre/Tillet style seats. I am 6’2” and prefer the extra leg room and lower driving position these provide.

 

Service history
Original IVA certificate and all onward MOTs and annual comprehensive service history are provided. This fills an A4 lever arch file and details every nut and bolt changed on the car. Overall the car has been maintained regardless of cost and is in excellent condition. It will be sold with a full MOT.


Reason for sale & contact details

I have owned the car for 6 years and loved every minute. However, I am now 60 and have taken up gliding. I am really just not using it as much as it deserves.
