Hairy toes eagle Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 Is there no longer a meeting at the Golden Heart pub. I've been away a couple of years..... 1 Quote
Stuart Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 @Hairy toes eagle no AO, no meetings and no area activity for a few years now unfortunately 1 Quote
Mark Jones Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Where was the meeting? There must be a few of us close or in the Cotswolds, although it's a big area. I'm just South of Stratford. 1 Quote
Stuart Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 @Mark Jones it was in the Golden Heart pub at Nettleton Bottom (in the dip as you go from Air Balloon corner to the dual carriageway -so handy access for members from Swindon as well. In the past it has been held in pubs closer to Stratford - the one in Gretton was a good location I thought 1 Quote
Paul Baker - Bristol Bath and Cotswold AO Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Nettleton Bottom, great name! Often head that way on a blat from Bristol, some nice roads and scenery. Likely that a few from our area, and probably other areas would join in with meets and outings if something did start up again around the Cotswolds. 1 Quote
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 My advice would be to just start your own meets, that's what I used to do before I became AO 👍 3 Quote

But of course there may be new members in the area now..... 1 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Perhaps someone may pick a Sunday morning at a place that sells breakfast butties and hot coffee and post it up? If it then forecasts rain, postpone it until the following Sunday? Just a pointer, it really would be great to see 🤞 4 1 Quote
Chr1sch Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 I was asking on Facebook only last week about a Worcestershire based meet? Would love to find a spot in the Cotswolds to get together. Somewhere near Morton in Marsh, Stow etc would give us a good run perhaps? 3 Quote
Stuart Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 The Royal Oak in Gretton hosted the meetings at one time. The Pheasant in Toddington hosts car clubs too I think. Lovely run from Stow to there. 2 Quote
Flying Carrot Steve Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 If you manage to set up a Sunday morning meet I'm sure some of us lot from the Bristol and West area would blat up from time to time. I spent a lot of time when a kid in the Cotswolds, have a bit of a soft spot for the area. Would be great to see it again on a sunny Sunday morning 1 Quote
Johnofox Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 Just spotted this thread. I’m a fairly new member and live in the Cotswolds - not far from nettleton Bottom and the air balloon actually! Lots of pubs have closed of late but if anyone wants advice on others in the area let me know. My new purchase went pop on first outing so currently amassing parts to get it on the road again so won’t be out for a few months yet 🫠 4 Quote
Mark Jones Posted March 28, 2024 Posted March 28, 2024 I think we should try and sort something out if the weather ever improves. Stow area or where Stuart mentioned around Toddington would be great. There is a 1st Wednesday of each month evening car meet at Cotswold Barn, near Moreton in the Marsh, that was a nice run out on a sunny evening, BBQ running and cars in a field. 5 Quote
robcolt Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Would it be better to have this thread in "Local area meets" section? Quote
