Just struck me, this thread is starting to edge towards technical, so it might be time to either get it moved, or maybe start a new tech-only thread on the car in Tech Talk?

Quick rack from Rally Design: https://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=900_1332&products_id=7310

If you want to go wide at the front (and get some more steering angle) you can use the following kit: https://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=1375_1594_1600_1602&products_id=11845

That will allow you to retain your current coilovers.

Yeah will pause question now and move to the technical parts of the forum.

Massive thanks to you (and all) for the basic education to help point me in the right direction on several topics! I’m not too far from Evesham so might see you out and about at some point…moved down this way for a job in Bishops Cleeve ~10 years ago but I live south of Cheltenham.

I put the Rally Design widetrack kit on our car many moons ago - having installed a Zetec to replace the Xflow I'd built the car with, the wheel was hitting the exhaust manifold on left turns. With rack limit stops it stopped that but made left turns dangerously wide so wide track was essential. As the car has a narrow tunnel, there was no way to get the engine & gearbox further back, hence the problem.

Don't regret it though, not had any issues with the kit and as @LoneWolf says, you get to keep the same dampers as they relocate the mounting point to accommodate them. Slightly reduced wheel spring rate as a consequence, but I didn't find it a problem.

Enjoy the car!

For reference, standard rack is 2.9 turns lock to lock, but if lock stops are fitted then the number of turns is reduced to about 2.7.
Quicker racks from Rally Design are 2.4 & 2.2.

Should be able to buy a full wide kit from RD as well.
