Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO
Welcome Calling @LoneWolf you've potentially got another play mate! We visited your great country this summer- I'm guessing you need a car older than 30 yrs to get registered in Italy?
LoneWolf
Welcome 👋 Where from Italy are you exactly? @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO in Italy cars from 20 years old can be registered (mine was from 1998). They are called "cars of historic interest", while 30 years old cars are actually historic cars.
Lele B
I think I read somewhere that you organised a rally in Italy, Trentino Alto Adige? 20 years old, even less, meaning you can import a car built in 2006 but I'd have to wait until 2006 to register it with Italian plates. Thanks for the greeting

Exactly 30 years automatically become historical

Not as far for you to the good roads in the Alps and the Dolomites!

Exactly 30 years automatically become historical I live down south, small town close to Lecce. If you buy a 2006 car, you need to wait till 2026 to register it (if legislation doesn't change in the meantime). We are talking about cars, like Westfield and other kit cars, which doesn't have the CoC. If you need any info about contacts for registration/import which I used, just give me a shout 👍

Now it is "only" a matter of finding the creature for myself.

I would like to find a SEIW with duratec 2000 engine and Type 9 gearbox, more for the future possibilities of ratio upgrades than anything else. Max vintage 2004, 2005 ok but I would have to wait one more year before I would plate it. Edited November 30, 2023 by Lele B

But 18, 19 or 20 year olds with these characteristics are not for sale or rather I haven't found any, can you help me out if you happen to see any around? Yes I think it is early years for the Duratec.. As I am sure with the other members I will keep an eye on the adverts for you...
LoneWolf
It is indeed not easy. Also, Duratec are usually mated to MT75 gearboxes, so your search is gonna be even more difficult. Something pops up every now and then, so keep an eye on the Sales section
