legineyt
JUST BOUGHT SE, BUILT IN 1990, CANNOT FIND CHASSIS NO. ON CHASSIS, NO BULKHEAD PLATE, BUT PREVIOUS MOT's SHOW A FORD NO. AND ONE THAT I ASSUME IS A WESTFIELD NO. THAT CONTAINS "SE". THE FORD NO. IS THE ONE ON REGISTRATION DOC. GUIDANCE AS TO LOCATION IS WELCOMED. P.S. MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION HAS BEEN POSTED! Blatman
Stop shouting........... Check the small chassis crossmember at the front of the transmission tunnel. It *may* be tacked on to the rear face of that...... It should also be on the rear most front cross member near the crank pulley. Welcome, BTW... Mark Stanton
Welcome and please don't shout Chassis No. on a 1990 would be stamped into small square welded on plate the lower front rail down by the radiator should be something like ?/90/Se (maybe) Make sure it is there Ford No. should be engine and shouldn't be chassis No. unless someone has registered it with a year plate rather than Q and called it an Escort Westfield or similar Later chassis had the No. stamped at least twice directly onto chassis It's something that really should have been checked before purchase as several years ago there were a few copy/dodgy chassis about - Hope yours is kosher
