Rednop1 Posted October 31, 2023 Share Posted October 31, 2023 @Howden Insurance - Specialist Vehicle I'm a A-plan fan but Be careful guys with your renewals from a-plan/howden makesure you get alternative quotes. After they tried to increase my dads house insurance by 47% and the reason they said was due to the increase in building materials and 40 % increase in paint and after a couple of phone calls from them "no sir we cannot do any better with your renewal price" and what we found you only get the proper price when you phone up to cancel your renewal and then all of a sudden they can have had a word with the manager and offer you a special price Very very underhanded in my eyes give people the best price straight away dont wait until they phone to cancel the renewal 😡😡😡😡 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It is unlikely that the amended price was any different underwriting wise (i.e both times you were offered the best price on our panel), but instead the manager would have used some discretion due to your length of being a customer - it's not something we can use often as of course, we are a business but on a case by case basis we do try to keep the price down where we can.
