Sam Harland Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Hi everyone I just wanted to introduce myself as a new club member and new Westfield owner. I’ve just recently purchased a SeiW with a C20XE Red top. I’ve always wanted a Westfield since my Dad had one many years ago. I love the car and how it handles so much fun in the recent good weather. I’m currently getting to know the car and understand what’s on it etc. I’ve had a couple of issues already that I’ve managed to fix however I have an issue with the main beam lights. When I got it only one of the front sidelights worked but not the main beams so I changed all the bulbs first and still didn’t work. I then checked all the fuses and found one had blown so I replaced that and the other sidelight bulb worked!! However the main beams still don’t work. Also the blue light on the dash does not light up when you flip the switch. Could this be a faulty switch or maybe something else? Any help would be much appreciated and I do have lots of other questions too! many thanks Sam 2 Quote
jaykay42 Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 Hi! Sorry, very much a learner myself so I can't help with your enquiry. However, warm a welcome to the community! The car looks great! Jens Quote

Could be and a cheap thing to check simply by replacing with a new one. There should be some wiring diags and/or build manuals with wiring diags in them available in the downloads area. If not just shout up and I can send you them 👍 Quote
Sam Harland Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 Many thanks my next option was to look at replacing the switches so I may try that next. Thanks for the support. Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Hello Sam and welcome to the club. As @AndrewBClarke said I'm the Yorkshire AO. We have 2 regular meetings a month, a Tuesday night one at the Buffers, Rakehill Road, Scholes, LS15 4AL from 7:30ish on the first Tuesday of the month. The next one is on the 3rd of October. And a Sunday morning breakfast meeting at the Darrington Hotel, Darrington, Pontefract, WF8 3BL just off the A1. This is on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 10am. The next one is on the 15th of October. We also have runs out, often to the east coast, so heading out Goole way isn't a problem. Hope to meet up sometime. Quote

Flying Carrot Steve Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Welcome. My bet is it's the switch on the dash. They corrode up inside. Sometimes taking them apart and cleaning is enough but when mine went I just swapped it for one of the other switches that are defunct in my car. I don't have wipers, or heater, or washers etc so I just used the internals from one of them though I forget which one now. Check the connections of the wires at the back if the switch too, could just be a duff one 1 Quote
Sam Harland Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 That’s great many thanks for your help 1 Quote

Sam Harland Posted September 29, 2023 Author Posted September 29, 2023 Just an update it’s turns out to be a fault connection on the switch! I can’t believe it was a simple as that’s. All lights working feel a bit embarrassed I raised this as a technical issue on here Many thanks to all who responded. Just out of interest are there any Westfield specialist in the North of England as probably I will want to take it for a health check and maybe set up / corner weighting as I will be going on track in the spring and want to make sure it’s full my ready. Cheers 5 Quote
