  • Chrisn01 changed the title to 2022 Westfield MegaS2000 SOLD
  • 2 weeks later...

@Chrisn01 or the new owner. I know this car has now sold but can you please tell me if the ACT Streetlite lightened 11.2lb (5kg) flywheel was ok in the car?

I used to own a Caterham with a 200bhp+ Rover K Series with a 3kg flywheel and I really miss that free revving since now my mega S2000 has the stock F20C flywheel which is 8kg.

Any noticeable downsides, pulling away, traffic etc?

I can't speak for that one, but I used the lighter version here in my S2000S and I really like it.

It's 8.1 lb approx. 3.7 kg. idles fine, revs beautifully and feels very responsive.

Thanks @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman, So it seems like there are no downsides to your setup. I'd just go for the OEM clutch though as at the moment I only have 230bhp and the most i'd do to the engine is ITB's and not a charger. Not sure how the weight of your uprated clutch cover compares with stock OEM clutch cover as I'd need to consider complete rotational mass?

^ Not that much in it when I was swapping them over. I didn't weigh the old cover.

Googling doesn't get many results, but most I can find for the stock cover are ~11 lbs, while ACT quote 10.1lbs, so I'm happy to go with the gut feeling of "about the same", so not an influence in the lightweight flywheel question.

Downside wise, no, it's not difficult getting off the line at all, (a stock Honda friction disc helps there). Yes, you do need to be a little more accurate with your rev matching when moving off or coming down the box, but not so much that you're aware of it when driving after the first run out.

It's still just as drivable as any S2000 I've driven.
