Naranja_Al Posted Tuesday at 10:47 Posted Tuesday at 10:47 I’ve been chasing an oil leak that I’d finally whittled down to either the rear main seal (RMS) or the gearbox input shaft seal. I decided to tackle the fix in my own garage for the first time. To make it work, I bought a new low-profile engine hoist that allowed me to drive the car over the legs; this meant I could push the car in and out of the garage to create the space I needed. I managed to get the engine out and back in within a day. Admittedly, the dry sump makes the job slightly more complex, but I bought some AN12 and AN10 caps so I could seal the pipework and pull the tank out while it was still full of oil. Once I pulled the flywheel to check the RMS, it actually looked perfectly dry. The front end of the gearbox, however, didn’t look quite so good! 5 1 Quote

Captain Colonial Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago From the mind and workshops of @Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO, snazzy custom aluminium windscreen mounting clips for my Longacre rear view mirror. He put in a lot of effort and made several prototypes before finalising the design and testing it on his own car at motorway speeds. Notice how the near side mount is slightly longer to angle the mirror better towards the driver! Looking forward to trying it out soon once The Wench is back on the road for April.
